MX records decide which server receives email for your domain. Change them when you move email to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or another provider.
- Log in to cPanel and open Zone Editor.
- Click Manage next to
yourdomain.com, then filter by MX. - Delete the old MX record(s) and click + Add Record > MX.
- Enter the Priority (lower number = higher priority) and the mail server hostname your provider gave you.
- Save each record.
If you keep email on Toshost, also check Email Routing in cPanel and set it to Local Mail Exchanger; for an external provider, set it to Remote Mail Exchanger. Changes take effect after propagation. Always use the exact MX values from your email provider. Need help? Open a ticket.
