File Manager is a built-in web tool to manage your files without FTP:
- Log in to cPanel and open File Manager under Files.
- Browse to
public_htmlto reach your website files. - Use the top toolbar to Upload, create a + File or + Folder, Copy, Move, Rename, Delete, or Compress/Extract.
- Right-click any item for the same options, including Edit and Change Permissions.
To see system files like .htaccess, click Settings (top right) and tick Show Hidden Files. File Manager is great for quick edits, while FTP/SFTP is better for bulk transfers. Deleted files go to the Trash, so you can usually restore them if needed.
