How do I speed up my WordPress website? Print

On Toshost's LiteSpeed servers the biggest win is the free LiteSpeed Cache plugin.

  1. Install and activate LiteSpeed Cache from Plugins > Add New.
  2. Enable caching, then turn on CSS/JS minification and combine, plus lazy-load images under its Page Optimization settings.
  3. Compress and resize large images (LiteSpeed's Image Optimization or a plugin like Smush).
  4. Use a current PHP version via cPanel's Select PHP Version.
  5. Remove unused plugins and heavy page builders where possible.

LiteSpeed Cache is built for our stack and pairs well with the free QUIC.cloud CDN. Test results at PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix before and after. If a page builder slows things down, ask us for tuning tips via an open a ticket.
