How do I install WordPress manually (without Softaculous)? Print

You can install WordPress by hand in a few steps using cPanel.

  1. Download the latest WordPress from wordpress.org and upload the ZIP to public_html via File Manager, then extract it.
  2. In cPanel's MySQL Databases, create a database and a user, then add that user to the database with all privileges.
  3. Visit https://yourdomain.com and run the setup wizard, entering your database name, user, and password.
  4. Complete the site title, admin username, password, and email.

That's it. Toshost provides free SSL and LiteSpeed Cache, so enable both afterward. If you prefer a one-click install, Softaculous in cPanel does all of this automatically. Stuck on the database step? Open a ticket.
