How do I install Moodle? Print

  • 0

You can install Moodle using the Softaculous Apps Installer in cPanel if it's listed, or manually.

  1. Log in to cPanel from your client area.
  2. Open Softaculous, search for Moodle, and click Install Now; choose yourdomain.com and https:// for free SSL.
  3. For manual install, upload Moodle to public_html, create a MySQL database, create a writable moodledata folder above the web root, and run the installer at your domain.

Moodle needs a cron job to function correctly, so add php /path/to/moodle/admin/cli/cron.php in Cron Jobs. Because Moodle can be resource-heavy with many users, a VPS or Dedicated server is recommended for larger sites. Need guidance? Open a ticket.
