Leech Protection stops users from sharing a password to a protected area too widely. It watches a directory and, if one login is used from too many places in a short time, it suspends that account automatically.
- In cPanel, open Leech Protection.
- Select the directory you want to monitor (it should already be password-protected via Directory Privacy).
- Set the maximum number of logins allowed within two hours.
- Optionally redirect over-limit users to a URL or email yourself an alert.
- Click Enable.
This is useful for member areas or paid content folders where you don't want one shared password abused. Combine it with Directory Privacy for the protected login and strong, unique passwords. To turn it off later, return to the same page and disable it.
