The easiest way is a full account backup from cPanel, which includes files, databases, and emails:
- Log in to cPanel from your client area and open Backup (or Backup Wizard).
- Click Download a Full Account Backup, choose Home Directory as the destination, and click Generate Backup.
- You will get a notice when it is ready; download the
.tar.gzfile and keep it somewhere safe off the server.
For partial backups, use Backup Wizard to download just your Home Directory (files), a MySQL Database, or Email Forwarders/Filters. Keeping your own copy off-server is the safest habit. Need help? Open a ticket.
