How do I fix "Your connection is not private" (SSL error)? Print

  • 0

This warning means the browser does not trust the site's SSL certificate. The usual causes are an expired certificate, a name mismatch, or mixed access.

  1. Check the date — if your certificate expired, reissue it. Most accounts get free auto-renewing AutoSSL; confirm in cPanel SSL/TLS Status and run Run AutoSSL.
  2. Make sure you are visiting the exact name on the certificate; www and non-www must both be covered.
  3. Verify your computer's clock is correct — a wrong date breaks SSL validation.
  4. If you just enabled SSL, allow a few minutes and clear your browser cache.

If AutoSSL cannot issue (DNS not pointed here yet, or CAA records), open a ticket.
